[2021 Update: Concerning these radio show transcripts from 1997 through this point, hopefully you the reader are considering the news media from this author's point of view and predicament to be able to understand my demeanor and interest in experimenting with different radio programming.]
(TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: ON THE EVENING OF OCTOBER 21, 1999 I MADE A SONG DEDICATION BY CALLING KOST F.M., A LOCAL LOVE SONG STATION. WELL YOU DON’T THINK THOSE CALLERS YOU HEAR ARE LIVE AND SELECTED AT RANDOM, DO YOU? THIS EXPERIENCE MADE ME REALIZE THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE EDITING OUT SPIRIT MESSAGES.)
K: O3?
Q: Oh hi, I’d like to dedicate a song.
K: Sure. Can you hang on for me for a minute and a half?
Q: Okay, great.
K: Okay, I’ll be back.
( . . . )
K: Thank you so much for waiting. I appreciate that.
Q: Okay.
K: What’s your name?
Q: Mark.
K: Hi mark, where are you coasting?
Q: I’m coasting in the San Fernando Valley.
K: Now say that again. Where?
Q: San Fernando Valley.
K: And who’s on your mind tonight?
Q: Well after I gave up looking for someone I discovered my true love was with me all along waiting for me to realize it. This might sound unusual to those who don’t understand yet on behalf of everyone who has shared my discovery and was willing to look for ways to try to prove love, I’d like to dedicate a song to — God.
K: Oh how nice.
Q: Um-huh. The God of this world and the God of all worlds.
K: Well is there a special one we can play?
Q: I think “The Rose” says it all.
K: (Ok)a(y), that’s a good one. If you can think of another one — someone has already requested that song already.
Q: Oh, okay. Well how about “If You Could Read My Mind.”
K: By Gordon Lightfoot.
Q: Yeah.
K: And is there anything that you’d like to say tonight?
Q: Well I think that (“THE LETTER”) the letters in love also spell the word evolve and I think that that’s what God wants us all to do.
K: Oh that is so true. If you mix the letters up in love, it means to evolve.
Q: Right. Um-huh. That’s right.
K: And to grow.
Q: And I think every song is giving us that message of love.
K: What a beautiful thought. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of Southern California and isn’t it nice to know that you’re never really alone?
Q: Yes, Karen. Thank you.
K: That’s great, Mark, thank you (“OKAY”) and I’ll get this on for you at 7:50.
Q: Oh great. Bye.
K: Bye bye.
( . . . )
Q: (speaking into tape recorder) So, of course, I taped what she had to say on the following tape side and then another tape side as well with my other tape recorder because I wanted to do a tape side to capture the essence of radio shows in this day and age — even for love stations with all the advertising, you know what. But what’s amazing about that was Karen cut out the most important line. It just shows you what happens when people edit. That’s why we have the Holy Bible in the condition that it’s in today because people don’t know what’s important. She cut out “The God of this world and the God of all worlds.” It’s not redundant, is it? Because, of course, I was talking about God the Great Creator and Mighael the Christ. (“AND”) People don’t have that understanding and I guess they won’t have it but the main thing is, of course, (“THAT”) the sincere expression of my love was made and it doesn’t really matter — well it matters — how it’s handled. Yet it just goes to show sometimes you can lose a lot of meaning because you don’t understand — I guess that’s why I’m here doing these things. Notice how we’re always tested. Even Karen was tested. God had allowed someone else to get through on one of the KOST lines and request the same song to see if she would be so superficial and lazy and undiscerning as not to go with “The Rose” for my request. Anyway, it’s interesting. So, of course, I called up my brother and played the taped message for him. And then he made me call back so Steve could hear it on the upstairs phone line. They said they’ve heard the song many, many times — “The Rose.” Yet I wonder how closely they’ve listened to those lyrics. I wonder how much attention people in general give to lyrics and the true Source. It’s funny — last night I tried to get through when I first had the idea of calling. Well I had the idea before but I never really thought that it was something that I just had to do. And I couldn’t get through. I hadn’t really figured out what I was going to say about that whole business of God and Mighael — I mean how do you make that distinction? So finally I thought of it today and, sure enough, it was much easier — well it was I got through right away (“TO THE”) tonight. So I just wonder who else might’ve been listening? I mean they would know it was me. It is a very popular channel — especially driving home. People drive home at this hour. Anyway, it was a very positive message. I hope people see through my bitch routine sometimes. I’m just trying to get some attention I guess. Or — (“I DON[‘T]”) no, it doesn’t really — I mean sometimes we give reasons. We don’t even understand why we are and do the things we do — and we try to explain it. And then we believe what we say in explaining it. Anyway, that’s why my book is so long and so — such a variety of thoughts and emotions and moods. To express the difference between emotions and truth. And how truth can be ever-changing and what that means and testing love. Anyway, I guess I’ll have dinner now. Thinking about Karen Sharpe’s name in connection with the song is interesting too.
( . . . )
K: . . . to be at night and let’s go to the KOST lines, talk to somebody special here. Hi, what’s your name?
Q: Mark.

Some say love, it is a river That drowns the tender reed Some say love, it is a razor That leaves your soul to bleed Some say love, it is a hunger, An endless aching need I say love, it is a flower, And you its only seed It’s the heart, afraid of breaking, That never learns to dance It’s the dream, afraid of waking, That never takes a chance It’s the one who won’t be taken, Who cannot seem to give And the soul, afraid of dyin’, That never learns to live When the night has been too lonely, And the road has been too long And you think that love is only For the lucky and the strong Just remember in the winter Far beneath the bitter snows Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love, In the spring becomes the rose
